COLUMBUS, Ohio – Celebrity chef and TV personality Paula Deen joined forces with Morris Home to sponsor a benefit event for Nationwide Children’s hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

During the event, hosted at furniture retailer Morris Home’s Columbus, Ohio, location, fans attended a meet-and-greet with Deen, had a brunch that featured dishes from Deen’s newest cookbook and partook in a silent auction that included furniture pieces from her line with Universal Furniture. Visitors to the event were also able to enter a raffle for a trip to Savannah, Georgia.

The event, according to a press release, was attended by hundreds of people, and the silent auction raised more than $10,000 for the hospital. Deen also toured Nationwide Children’s Hospital and learned about how staff nutritionists there educate children about healthy eating as a part of the event.

Deen and Morris Home’s joint event comes just weeks before the launch of the Universal Furniture and Paula Deen Living Room promotion, which takes place Aug. 3-13. During the promotion, select retail partners across the country can offer their customers up to 15% off on Universal Furniture’s living room furniture.
